I qualified as a Mediator in 2003. I have mediated on a large number of occasions either as sole or co-mediator in the fields of personal injury, professional and clinical negligence, construction and many other fields of dispute.
Personal Injury Experience:
Until April 2013 I was a barrister in full-time practice in Liverpool specialising in personal injury, clinical negligence and other professional negligence. On average I dealt with 20 clinical negligence claims a year ranging in value to over £7 million.
I was appointed Assistant Recorder in 1996 and Recorder in 2000 and sit extensively as a part-time judge in both Crown Courts and County Courts. I have wide experience dealing with disputes in diverse areas of law outside his specialist areas as well as in presiding over jury trials concerning serious crime. He has adjudicated upon clinical and other professional negligence claims to values approaching £1m. He has also chaired Legal Services Commission Review Panels in Liverpool, Chester and Shrewsbury, being the former Vice-Chair in respect of Clinical Negligence Panel in Liverpool.
